Some sediment in the bottle. Decanted for 30 mins. Strong smells of smoke and earth, very little fruit on the nose. Very thin tasting... this wine is definitely past its prime. Drink or pour whatever you have left.

This bottle is living proof of the adage that there are no great wines, just great bottles of wine. Recent posts that this wine was over the hill got me digging through my cellar for my only bottle. It was buried deep because I assumed it still had a few years left.
First impression was not very encouraging: not giving much on the nose and tasted mostly of dusty tannins. A half hour of air brought it to life. Lots of blueberry and black fruits on the nose and the tongue. Decent balance and medium finish. I especially enjoyed the way it coated the whole mouth. Risky to generalize: but for me Washington Syrahs are a touch more reticent yet more elegant than the big boys from California.
BTW color was dark and bright with little sign of aging. I was lucky with this bottle.

Really nice for an older syrah. Leather, gamey on the nose. Long legs and finish. Tobacco, herbal and lots of tannic structure.

Rich, earthy syrah. Long finish, great wine. Wish I had more.
