  Nose of blackberry with earth tones, forest floor and some wet dog (yum!). More blackberry on the palate, with hints of anise and tobacco on the finish. Dark and brooding, very nice bottle of wine!

  One of the best $30ish bottle of red wine I have had all year. Was tasted in a blind and no one picked this as a sangiovese. Tasted more like a northern rhone with sweet red fruits, some tar, spice and an earthy core to this wine. Would have never guessed this was 2006, more like 2001. so maybe the great experience was due to not being over the top, wonder if some bottle variation here.
