Decanted 2 hours (some benefit as it did open aromatically and tannins were less hard). Dark violet. Fresh dark fruits, chocolate, bramble. Medium, light acidity and fleshy tannins. Matched to Kobe hamburgers and Spanish (garlic) potato salad. Big hit with everyone and the magnum contents disappeared. Drink or hold.

PnP. Less enthused than I was 2.5 years ago. Still Inky violet. Dark fruits and tar, plus etoh on nose and palate. The graphite and balancing tannins have receded a bit, making this a bit more 'gloppy'. Fruit remains powerful and expressive. Not a good match for dinner, so drank water until after the meal.

PnP (two nights). Dark violet. Brambly black and blue berries with graphite and tar on the nose as well as noticeable etoh. Rich and deep fruit intensity with pepper emerging on palate. The word delicious comes to mind when thinking about the nature of the fruit flavor. Not complex or finesseful, especially with etoh being evident. Good structure-acidity, firm but in-balance tannins. Not as provocative as the 2005, but a good example of a new world grenache. Strong (similar) showing on 2nd night. Drink or hold.

Tasty , no strawberry flavors, dark fruits, spicy on the tongue
