  • What a fantastic effort! Still young after 20 years. Dark ruby in color, showing a little age on the edge, but darker than I would have thought. Incredible complex nose with tobacco, chocolate, plum and candied red fruits. Acids still present and a long finish with integrated polished tannins. In other words a fantastic balanced effort aging harmoniously and retaining the freshness of the great 2004 vintage. This wine has at least another decade to go. Simply wow!

  • My bottle, carried home from Spain in 2017. Decanted, filtered and returned to the bottle a few hours before the tasting. Black cherry fruit, chocolate, coffee and oak. Oak on the heavy side in a way that would have been just fine with a big steak but it didn't show well in a parade of more judiciously oaked wines (I was afraid of that). Shows its age.

  • Briar fruits on nose. Chocolate/coffe/oak. Fresh and clean on palate with juicy red fruits. Taut; ring-fenced with oak overtones. Fine, evident tannins but initially a little hollow in the fruit core. Tannins and oak show. A lovely wine but incomplete in some way for me. Some intrigue, subtlety, complexity and BITE.

  • Beautiful bouquet with dark berries and sweet spices. On the palate a slightly sweet start, chocolate good acidity and round tannin. There is some development, but the wine is not tired yet.

  • No detailed notes taken. Drank over 3 days and the wine just kept improving. Started somewhat disjoined but pulled together at the end to a very enjoyable wine. I suggest another 5 years at least. Score assumes potential will be reached.
