Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Colour: medium ruby
Nose: medium(+) intensity, secondary, youthful. Red and black plum, bramble, blackberry. Candied red cherry and dark chocolate ('Cherry Ripe'). Liquorice root, cough syrup. Cedar, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon.
Palate: dry, medium(-) tannins (very smooth, fine-grained), medium acidity, high alcohol (15,0%), medium(+) bodied. Medium(+) intensity, medium length finish. Red and black plum, bramble, blackberry. Candied red cherry and dark chocolate ('Cherry Ripe'). Liquorice root, cough syrup. Cedar, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon.
Conclusions: very good. Can drink now, but suited to further ageing. P&P (pop&pour), not decanted. This seems to be an export-only cuvée -- not listed on the winery website nor available in Australia.
    Seal: screwcap
DAY 2: some more red (strawberry, red plum) and black fruit on the second day. Maybe some savoury character on the finish too -- tomato?
