Quite spicy on the nose with anis, black cherries, underwood, licorice, violets, and baking spices on the nose. Medium acidity with ripe red fruit, more cherry, berries, a bit more licorice, and earth on the palate. Quite long on the finish. Objectively a very high quality CA Pinot, but it’s not really my style to be honest. A bit less ripe / hot and more red fruit is what I’m looking for. 92-93ish for me, although it may be quite a bit more for people who like the style.
