No, this definitely was not “outstanding” and perhaps not even “very good”. If such simplicity was a Lidl wine, I wouldn't complain. Not terrible, but also nothing to enjoy.

Gabe's. Bizarrely, identical to the previous bottle poured except the experience was a total opposite. Instead of being hard and tannic/too young, this one was ready, modern and polished. Hilariously, someone threw in "after the manscape" referring to a disgusting commercial some of us had seen during the Masters and just talked about--can't remember the last time I laughed that hard.

Very fruity and light. Tannin's don; t seem to prominent to me, after a bit of air the length and complexity improves a lot. Good acidity.

Doran's. Very young with serious tannins. Lots of potential but not ready for prime time.

This is nice. Young and fresh. And a bit too purple. Will benefit from a bit of time in the cellar or a decant.
