  • Popped and poured, paired w sausage pasta. Open for business w plenty of ripe, sweet red cherries, low tannins, adequate acid. Delicious primary fruit, lacking complexity.

  • Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. No formal notes. As others have stated in previous TN’s, this is simply too young. The fruit is gorgeous and the winemaking is very good however, I find it to be too primary for my liking. Even after a few days, it was unwilling to develop. It’s balanced with sufficient structure to age well…and I suspect quite gracefully. I swooped up a couple of bottles and I’ll plan to forget about my remaining bottle for at least a decade. Better after 2026 and probably best after 2031.

  • Not rated as just too young. All the stuffing there for a fantastic Nebbiolo in time. Has all the trademark piercing acidity, weirdly hollow parts of the taste experience, very grownup nose that to me characterizes young Nebbiolo. Just bury this for a long time. Could be profound. Revisit in 2 decades.

  • Agree with nostrabacchus note on the flavors and aromas
My only exception is I found the mid palate to be somewhat thin
This note was from a quick pop n pour so with that caveat…
Also the retailer shipped it in 90 plus degree weather so there’s that …
Upon further inspection 2 hours post opening
I have to say it’s a wonderfully complete expression of Nebbiolo.. it blossomed and had all the notes nostra said.. I had a Sandrone 2012 cannubi Boschis and this was more enjoyable for half the price
    Upgrade to 93/94

  • This is a little closed right now, but might be the single best wine I have ever had at Cantalupo. It‘s very finessed, but powerful at the same time, showing notes of red fruit, tobacco, cedar, mint, some flowery notes too. It‘s medium-full bodied, with medium-high tannin that is incredibly finessed and silky for young Nebbiolo, there is also a nice medium-high acidity providing freshness. Very good length. I would give this a few years to develop more aromatic complexity, but a great wine in the making. (95+)
