  • Sourced from multiple vineyards throughout the Russian River AVA, this Chardonnay was fermented in a combination of oak (51%) and stainless steel (49%). The entirety was subsequently aged for 5.5 months in 100% new French oak barriques, with only 14% of the final product allowed to undergo malolactic conversion. Light golden in color, it offers aromas and flavors of ripe citrus, quince, yellow peaches, tropical fruit and honey. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and without alcoholic heat (13.7%), it stays solid on the mid-palate and concludes with a lengthy, albeit woody finish. This iteration of Jordan's Chardonnay flashes more ripe fruit and oak than other recent vintages. There will be many fans of this style, but for my palate a bit more restraint is preferred. Ordered by the bottle at a restaurant, this was immediately expressive upon opening. Enclosed with a Diam 10 cork. Drink now-2030.

  • Extremely ripe fruit to the extent that I found it cloying. It’s becoming clear to me that while I love Russian river valley Pinot Noir, RRV Chardonnay leaves me wanting. I believe I seek something more restrained. In this case the buttery tropical nature seems overdone. There’s no guesswork or contemplation here – it hits you right in the face. The med+ acid only serves to emphasize the intensity rather than balance it.
