  • Nice dark color. A bit past it's prime. Fruit flavors resolved to dark earth, acidity still prominent and sour.

  • Linear aromas of raspberry, red cherry, mushroom, clay earth and touch of vanilla. Adds some plummy, darker fruit on the palate were there is a real zing to the acids. A very bright berry finish, with a pleasing earthiness and just a kiss of tannin. Well made and full of life but a little to narrowly defined for me. I would bet that another 3-5 years will improve this one.

  • Red with some bricking. Not decanted but drank over two nights. Subtle, but expressive nose of spicy red berries, leather, and pine. Palate was not as pleasing as the last bottle two years ago. The fruit has faded somewhat and feels thin and did not balance the mighty acidity which without the fruit has crossed into tartness for me.

  • Aromas of spicy raspberry, black cherry liqueur, hardwood forest floor and pine resin. Red fruits, anise and pine needle on the palate. Even after 2 hours, the finish shows rather tannic, earthy and disjointed. Needs another couple of years to show its best.

  • Bright ruby red. Opened 90 minutes but not decanted. Intesnse aromas of strawberry, pine forest floor, sharp peppery spice and mineral - very focused and youthful. Full, rich fruit and spice-driven palate with a finish that leaned towards quite acidic (great while the pork tenderloin with acorn squash puree lasted). This was a wine that demanded attention and was a very pleasant surprise.
