  A rich, complex, smooth and delicious red wine from a region I usually associate with more tannic and austere wines. This really did take me by surprise. Bought for 15 GBP from the Oddbins chain of winestores in the UK and was expecting something with quite high tannins and a bit of grip. What I actually got was surprising. Deep, lush red colour. The nose is wonderful - smoke, dark fruits, cigar box, leather - smells like a fine bordeaux. In the mouth the wine is low in tannins, soft, elegant and complex - some bitter chocolate and herbs. Really a very beautiful wine and one that would fool quite a lot of people into thinking they were drinking something twice the price and from a different country. Long, lingering after taste with a slight sweetness to finish it off. Very good. Will buy more and if you are in the UK I recommend shelling out 15 quid on a bottle.
