  Chapoutier (Ivy Bottle Shop, Sydney): Very slightly reductive, slightly baked black and red fruit, savoury spice, a little vegetal underpin. Juicy, fleshy, savoury dark fruits, black olive, grippy talc textured grip across the mid palate. Touch of bitterness on the finish is not off-putting, also handles it's alcohol well. Balanced. Nice.

  Dark berries, more tannic than expected. Drinking well after open for a few hours.

  Dark and dense color. Fresh and "wild" Syrah aromas with dark berries, forest floor, pepper and herbs. Fresh, fruity and juicy on the palate, with soft tannins. Should be drunk chilled to mask the alcohol.
