PnP at the Terrace Room in New Buffalo. Not suprisingly, young and tight, but it was probably the best value on the list. Red fruited (cherries, currants), violets, a bit of spiciness, dried herbs. Just not showing much at this point without a good decanting.

Lousy showing for this bottle. It may simply be that this wine has closed down hard and isn't giving anything, but over the course of a long evening it simply never showed anything. Certainly no fruit, but even the type of structure I'd expect in a young, closed down Barbaresco, with raspy tannin and acidity, wasn't there. There was a sort of structure, but not exactly sure how to describe that structure. I'd suggest holding for several years or a long decant. I will not rebuy. I have also had this producer's langhe Nebbiolo and have not been impressed.

Smells like a sour candy. Floral notes. Very nice

Big scaled, intense, dark fruited with notes of flowers and tar. Marked but soft tannins. Too young right now, but great potential.

Another winner with dried flowers, mushrooms, earth, tar and minerals. Medium plus finish.
