The Prestige line are the top wines made by this family run estate. 70% Grand Cru Chardonnay, 30% Premier Cru Pinot Noir. No malolactic fermentation to allow for longer aging. Aged for 14 years on it's lees. Light gold color. Spice upfront. Tart lemon and citrus notes on the palate. This had a nice depth that comes from the extended lees aging. 93 points.

Color: medium gold Nose: brioche crust, butter, baked apple, a bit of raisin and alpine herb, a subtle hint of mold.and cheesy funk Palate: medium-high acidity, bubbles here are gentle and body medium. Not coming off as overly sweet. Finish: long
Persistent, autolytic more than fruity, but nevertheless well balanced and quite interesting. The age definitely lends complexity here, and I would actually recommend this with one hour of air and just cool, not cold.

The 2007 Charles Gardet Champagne presents a soft mousse that graciously allows the grapes to take center stage. The nose reveals a delightful interplay of minerality and a subtle stewed quality. On the palate, the wine unfolds with notes of crisp apples and lively lemon zest. Its gentle character suggests a nuanced expression, a testament to the cooler 2007 vintage. This Champagne is not crafted for grand celebrations; rather, it beckons as a companion for a quiet Tuesday night, post-band practice. Its soothing nature calms the nerves without demanding excessive contemplation. At $45, the quality-to-price ratio is commendable, making it an accessible choice for those seeking an enjoyable and relaxed experience.

Lots of red apple, lemon lime, crisp and zesty - nice for a house I had never heard of before! I can't imagine this will age much more, this is probably the time to drink. And drink I will.

Much better showing than a year ago. A lot of tension, candied ginger, lemon peel. Drink or hold.
