Vacation Champagne, and a fine accompaniment to our dinner of lobster rolls (butter version, not mayo). Not quite as severe as I was expecting given the reputation of the vintage, but it had more than sufficient acidity to cut through the butter, and also complement the lemon that we put on a few pieces of the lobster meat. There’s plenty of depth to support aging, though I really like where it is right now, at least with a lobster roll accompaniment.

BdB from all over the Côte des Blancs, spent 4 years on the lees, disgorged April 2023 with 5 g/l dosage. Round feel, lush, bit of spice and caramel notes. Green pear, green apple, big acid. It doesn’t really emerge much even with some time, definitely one to hold.

A bit too early? Left with champain stopper over night, and nights actually, which really improved it. The fresh cut apple scents, lemon, white fruit is clearer with air and time. OK length, for now. Revist a few more years down the road.

Restaurant purchase. Very nice. Lemon peel with crushed stone and nectarine. Floral and fresh. Silky mousse with a lovely mouth feel. Very tasty.
