My last note seems to get it. This comes off as a lower tier Zin for Ridge. It's worthy of a more basic pricing as it really struggles to show much individual character. Well...its more blackberry than a lot of Zins. Which is a bit interesting. There is some brambly stuff if you really lean in. Again, probably more classically food friendly than a lot of Zins are. Its just not really capturing my interest.

Very solid Ridge ATP offering. Dark purple coloration, with nicely blended red fruit notes abounding, a touch of earthiness, mild tannins. Drinking nicely now, and will likely improve with a bit more time in the bottle.

Traditionally-styled Ridge zin made with 94% Zinfandel, 4% Petite Sirah and 2% Alicante Bouschet. Medium-bodied with mellowed aromas of red currants, blackberry, orange rind, violets and savory herb. The palate is delicate yet savory with notes of red fruits, clove and licorice. Tannins are not overpowering, balanced nicely with mild acidity on the finish. Considerably improved from my first bottle 6+ months ago.
