Off the wine list at the Ledbury. Actually not an awful deal all considering. This was quite enjoyable. It's the standard SQN where it's almost over the top but there is this lovely acidity to it. And just an ever evolving mass of flavors. Had with a chocolate dessert which was interesting, but actually seemed to work with it. The bitterness in the chocolate counterbalanced the sweet here. Tasty.

2004 SINE QUA NON MR K THE STRAW MAN BRANDER VINEYARD SEMILLON- 375 ml.; from the donor of the 2000 Pingus, our prince of sweets scored again with this delicious liquid dessert in a glass; honeyed apricot with a touch of ginger is delivered in a syrupy texture; a spoonful will do ya.

Another masterpiece among giants in the epic night of new world titans, great acidity with super intense core of apricot, marmalade and honey swirling on the palate drilling like a fireball. Testimony to Krankl's genius. Could be interesting to see how it could age.

1500 Parker Points of Wines (GHT): This was very good. Iced tea in color. The nose has crème brulee, slight glazed pears, and honey. IIRC, there is supposed to be a fair amount of acidity in this vintage, but it still tastes a bit flabby to me. George and I compared it to an 09 Yquem we shared a few weeks ago noting that the Yquem was much crisper and fresher. Its hard to say this wine is tiresome after 15 wines, but almost everyone loved this wine but failed to finish a two ounce pour. That was a combination of the food, the wine and the lateness of the evening. But still, a sip went a long way here.
