  • Doran's. My first thought was viognier due to a bit of perfume and talcum powder on the nose. With time in the glass it showed the grape more, but this vintage doesn't show the Puligny-like limestone like the '18 I own does--er, did, but it's just as elegant. Excellent.

  • Opened for Mother's Day to have with cheese and apps. Much better than my previous bottle, either off bottle but more likely just my taste buds and the conditions. First thing that jumped out at me was crisp saline. Good minerality with a touch of apple. Went great with a strong, aged, black truffle pecorino.

  • This wine was a true epiphany, for me, as were all the wines from Rasa Vineyards. Similar to all the wines they produce, it possesses an elegance that I have tasted in few American wines.
A pale, yellow-green color with perfect clarity; green apple, lemon curd, fresh-cut flowers, a tiny hint of oak, and stony minerality; a wonderful transition to the palate with perfect weight and balance; and a lingering, mouth-watering finish. It paired perfectly with a variety of dishes: raw oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, lobster, and seared jumbo sea scallops. One of the best Chardonnays I have ever tasted.
