Quite lively when first opened. Fresh acidity and light tannin really make this go. With time open, especially overnight, it becomes more candied and tart. A surprisingly translucent wine given how they treat others from the region. I wonder what the reasoning is for the lowish extraction. Even in the description they mention only a quarter was held with the cap under. Given how the carignan really picks this vineyard up I'm surprised they don't lean into it more and let it carry the Zin. All that said, this wine is always in between something better and something worse. This vintage is simpler than most.

Opened for 1 hour. Color is ruby and on translucent vs opaque side. On the nose: Red and blackberries, bit of cranberry and hint of vanilla. On the palate: Red and blackberries, vanilla, cranberry, a bit of baking spices. Good acidity and ok length. It’s a lighter and brighter Zinfandel not a head banger. Solid wine.

Good but not great Zin, although my wife loved it and thought it was second only to Geyserville as far as Ridge goes.

Not in CT inventory. Very solid zin that probably deserves more time but that is how it goes. Great fruit, nose and length!

Last place in a blind tasting of 8 wines with a few other Ridges in the group.
