Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 90 points

  • This was pretty good, despite being a bit young. Overall, we enjoyed this bottle. Nice bit of jam, not as peppery as a lot of zins, flavors nicely integrated and tannins nearly imperceptible. Likely a higher score had we waited a bit longer.

  • Really good and trending better. Another 2-3 years and it’s ready. A little on the sweeter side, but still a nice balance and great finish.

  • Very tasty.. Lots of acid and very prominent strawberry preserves. Medium finish.

  • A bit under the weather but here goes. Opened for 3 hours. Color is deep garnet/purple. On the nose: Mixed berry liquor. My sense of smell is challenged but the rich berry fruits are coming through load and clear. I am likely missing all the secondary and tertiary smells. On the palate: Mixed berries, some nice spicy notes and some tart cherry. I am not doing the wine justice given my cold but I wanted a glass of wine with dinner and was craving a good Zinfandel. The Wine is quite elegant and “European” for a Zinfandel. I frequently get this from Ridge Zinfandels. It is well made and made for food. I have 2 more bottles to try when I am 100%.

  • Decanted 60 minutes before initial taste. Medium deep clear purple color. The nose reminds me of fresh strawberry rhubarb pie - Strawberries, cherries, baking spices, butter, and vanilla. Medium light body with medium high acidity. Strawberries, plums, blackberries, and cherries burst on the tongue. The wine is juicy but never jammy. Medium tannins sharply attack the mouth, become chewy, and turn into dust by the finish. The vanilla, pepper, and spices build up mid-palate. Finish burns a bit from the alcohol. Persisting finish of bright plum, vanilla, and pepper.
