  • Burgundy Night (A collector's home): Wine G. This wine is deep purple/black in color. The nose is grapey, black cherries, spice an a touch of VA. Sweet fruit, somewhat stern and stem infused palate that displays fine grippy tannins on the finish. The wine was not guessed as a CA Pinot, fitting in quite nicely to a flight of 17 and 18 red burgundies from producers that use whole cluster fermentation. Middle of the pack for the group and last for me but the Rhys held its own.

  • I pretty much agree with the previous taster. One of the better Rhys Pinots I've had. A bit herbaceous for me, but the structure and fruit were fine. Maybe a few more years will see the wine improve.

  • Decanted for 1 hour, recommend 3 hours as this took awhile to open up. Black fruits, licorice, menthol, clove and some greenness/herbal elements. Very stern and structured palate, medium acid, dark fruited, peppery, saline infused texture and drying on the finish.
