10.21.23 Tasting: A very pretty Cabernet from Santa Cruz Mountains. While Ceritas is known as a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir specialist, their Cabernet Sauvignon which flies under the radar is simply stunning. Opaque ruby in color this wine is packed with flavors of dark black fruit, herbal menthol, and savory earth. Medium bodied and lithe with a firm tannin structure and a long finish. This wine has a long life ahead of it and will be special as it develops more tertiary notes and complexity.

Bill & Crew - Offline #1 (Sydney, Australia): Herbal aromatics including capsicum and celery notes, also shows up some raspberry and blueberry. Palate shows a similar cool, lithe fruit streak with herbal undertones as well. Tasted better than it sounds but I wonder where it will go with time?

decanted 3 hours. really striking wine that was lifted, light on its feet, and quite aromatic. reminiscent of Barolo in structure. only had 1 bottle but look forward to trying future vintages.

Popped and poured. Dark, bordering on opaque. Lightly toasty, dark cherries and dark berries, traces of cinammon or nutmeg. Very pure dark fruit entry, but also some red cherry, then black pepper giving way to dark licorice and quite spicy as it dances across the tongue. Not heavy, but has good presence.
A lot of structure and certainly comes off as tightly wound on the pop and pour. At the moment it demands the company of a steak. Very long life ahead of this. 92 for tonight, upside in the year's ahead.
