Domaine Serene wine dinner (Chaine des Rotisseurs) (Lancaster London Hotel): Deep garnet colour, excellent rhone style nose with the herbs mixed with brambly fruit, i thought the palate was a little disappointing after such a beautiful nose, but thats possibly as it was paired with a chocolate mousse with sour cherries which overwhelmed it completely

Beautiful wine, complex and long semi-sweet finish. It might have seemed sweet compared to the Waters Syrah we were comparing it with. Most preferred this over the Waters. The Rockblock was more feminine and subtle than the waters.

Very accurate review by Slave2thevine. I loved this wine and believe it's right in its window at the moment. Complex spices, big fruit, earth, vegetation, and a finish for days. Plenty of oak, but not overbearing. Nice!

This was really quite the roller coaster of a wine. This is a deep violet color in the glass with an opaque core and a thin ruby rim at the edge of the glass. Scents of earth, olives, black berries, blueberries, and a light hint of toasted oak. In the mouth there is medium body weight followed by flavors of blueberries, blackberries, cacao nibs, all pulled together with just a hint of smokiness on a medium length finish.

Still going strong! Complex. Fresh fruit. Layered and just the right weight for a Syrah.
