  • touch of tobacco, dark blue fruit on nose, touch floral and a hint of pine needle- fruit was still fairly vibrant and cedar notes cam out and was not overbearing- mid way through it lost a little depth - some cedar- second bottle of this wine and it has has aged well though like many 2004 Napa/Sonoma cabs they start to get a small hollow part were the young fruit would have covered that up on release-

  • This is a nice Cab. A little hot, a little too extracted perhaps, but these are minor objections. Deep nose of black berry, black currant jam, dust and cedar. A hint of mint, too. Attack is intense as you'd expect from a North Coast Cab. A little cream on the mid-palate. Great coffee-like bitterness on the finish. Tannins are present, yet manageable. Given the bitterness/tannin/structure, I'd think this should age for a while still.

Edit: a little overbearing after a while due to extraction.
