  • Really nice qpr. Still some backbone to allow for development, I think. Not a big wine, but could be a contender for a “house Riesling “

  • Very pale. Precise, mineral, with a mix of citrus fruit and pear, apricot. Light in body, dry, with noticeably high acidity. Touch of petrol. Lacks the length and concentration of other Dönnhoff bottlings.

  • From memory, notes of white fruits on the nose, which are replicated on the palate. The color is a fresh lemmony-yellow in the glass. There's a refreshing acidity that balances the white fruit character plus there's a touch of minerality and a hint of stone fruit on the finish. This is delightful Rielsling Trocken that's ready now but which should keep and improve over the next 5 to 8 years. Excellent QPR.

  • Drank this screwcapped bottle over the course of at least a couple, if not three, weeks. Quite frankly, it was a pleasant drink throughout, although it not surprisingly softened and broadened as the days passed. If one was inclined to do so, this could handle some meaningful age. Dry without being austere. Not terribly complex right now (and possibly ever), but everything is in the right place, with broad-appeal proportionality. This is pretty much an annual QPR champion, and I'm officially through my half case in one year: time to buy more. Gut impression score: 89 - 91.

  • Le nez est assez discret, on percoit à peine le caractère variétal pétrolé.
En bouche, le vin est vif, très sec, légèrement perlant. Ce qui détonne c'est la tenue onctueuse, la rondeur qui tranche avec l'acidité.
    Poire asiatique croquante, pamplemousse rose.
    Maintenir bien frais c'est bon.
