This wine was pretty tight, nervy the couple days I drank it. It opened up a bit eventually but still never got cracking. Good cherry/cola notes. As others remarked there is a lot of structure here so I feel like this isn’t quite ready for prime time. A bit of stem whole cluster action? My biggest complaint was the absence of mid palate, especially at 14% etoh… so my hunch is wait, at least for now. I’d like to hear others thoughts though.

Dark brambly fruits combingle with wood spice and a touch of Pinot funk. This is a big boy wine with a chunk of tannins. I really think it would probably go well with beef stew or lamb. Something to help tame those tannins. Still, there's some decent character here and enough to pay attention to to crack the 90 point barrier.

This has certainly calmed down and relaxed a lot since when I lasted tasted this a couple of years back, aromas of bright red cherry, strawberry, roses, lavender and all spice. The palate is medium bodied with a wonderful purity of red fruits, crushed florals, crushed stones which fills the mouth, along with a creamy, rich and slightly flamboyant mid-palate with finely grained tannins. This is surprisingly in your face, and feels a little less structured than what I would like from Seven Springs. This is not 97 points as Vinous suggests. 91-92

Too young/tight on opening, even after an hour. Will wait to rate until night 2.

That is a bit tight on the palate. And nose too. And bit of leafy-ness and restraint Bill finds in this one means he likes it the best.
