Community Tasting Notes (8) Avg Score: 92.4 points

  • 2 hour decant on day 1; this echoes my last bottle back in October '23. Tight at first, showing blueberry and cassis fruit, tobacco, and a nice finish of sweet vanilla oak. Had the second half of the bottle on day 2 and it was even better and more integrated. Smooth as silk with no rough edges. Bumped the score up a point based on this. Also, no rush to open these as they are still just infants. Lots of time left here, but ready to go with a little air time right now, and should drink well for another 15 years or more. For sub-$40, this is a STEAL!

  • On the pop this was pretty tight and tannic, not giving up much fruit. We ran it through the "recanter" and back into the bottle, and it opened up quite nicely. Blueberry and cassis fruit, some earthy tobacco flavors, and a nice finish of vanilla oak. Tannins still present, but much more relaxed after the 'recant'. Still just a baby at 5 years old, this one has the legs to run for awhile. Drink now with air - 2033+.

  • Consistent w/prior notes. Great wine, paired well with grilled salmon too.

  • Slow-ox for 2 hours in the glass. Surprisingly open and ready to go at that point, showing fruit-forward flavors of blueberry, cassis, and black cherry, with touches of oak and a mocha finish. Still holding up on day 4 too! Drink now - 2033+.

  • Full-bodied and well-rounded with bold blackberry, raspberry, mocha, hints of licorice and a laser of a mineral backbone from start to finish. Demonstrably better on Day 2. Opens up with beautiful results. Phenomenal wine.
