Drank this little beauty with grilled lamb chops to celebrate our 40th anniversary and was not disappointed. Soft tannins, full bodied with layers upon layers of flavor.

A remarkable wine. Gorgeous exotic nose full of blackcurrant, plum, violets, olive, coffee bean, black licorice, iron, and incense. Even though these dark and rich notes also come through on the palate it doesn't come off as a big or bold drink It's actually quite gentle, supple, balanced, and dare I say, elegant! The acids are still quite balanced and integrated, the tannins are powdery, the fruits express as fresh, and the finish is clean. All of this comes together to create a very provocative tension and the wine is quite simply put, fantastic. It's absolutely approachable and drinkable now but will age gracefully for 10 years plus. This would make a great pairing with just about any preparation of beef you could imagine, or a nice pork terrine or country pate.

Lovely. Menthol on the nose and deep ruby color. Taste is smooth with some dried fruit, fig, a touch of caramel and a long finish. Decanted 2 hrs.
