  • Decanting, dark purple red, A LOT of sediment! Initial nose is rich grapy, plummy, raisin and not red berries, and initial flavor is large but still has some opening to do - a little furry (tannin) and some modest acidity at front of mouth, grape with some raisiny hints, it also rolls in the mouth.
At 45 minutes, still has some tightness and a little tannin, but it is full and finishes. Did fine with ground Turkey burgers as a “background”. Brings rich grape, fullness and roundness forward including plum, & raisin.
After an hour, the wine continues to be large and opening (most of the way there). Really enjoyable.

  • I liked the wine well enough. We got it direct from the winery as part of a club membership. Total cost (including tax and shipping) $73. While the wine is full bodied and rich, it is a one note wonder... not sure we'd wanna spend another $73 for another bottle.
