Add it to the all-time greatest hits of Oregon… album. White Room by Cream. Sensual Côte de Nuits bliss, salinity, plush red fruit, hints of toasted oak, and cherry cola too. Over time, fresh cut strawberries and raspberry coulis on the nose… pairing with light tannins. Forest detritus after a cloudburst, damp potting soil right out of the Scotts bag, and a sprinkle of shaved dark chocolate. A tension — a second grade field day tug-of-war — of fruit and earth.

Consumed over two nights alongside the 2017 Big Table Farm Yamhill-Carlton, the Sunnyside Vineyard showed slightly more profound depth of flavor and a bit higher acidity, but otherwise these wines are in a similar space: currently singing just one note (indistinct red berries), with medium(-) body, and a medium finish clipped a bit short by the 13.7% alcohol. These are nice enough for easy-drinking Oregon pinots, but I'd hoped for more for the price and from this producer of what are usually quite high-QPR, crowd-pleasing wines. Drink over the next 3-5 years.

Muted upon opening, shut down all of the first night. Will revisit and edit if different on second night.

Bright red plum. Underripe tart cranberry. Balanced oak. Again, short notes given Xmas eve chaos (@ 52V)
