Very deep purple with blue-ish rim. Sweet berries, but not to the point of jammy. Maybe baked berries. Light+ tannins and length of finish, and light on complexity. The biggest detractor on this wine for me is a hint of petrol on the nose. Otherwise, as a mostly-cab-and-barolo drinker, I appreciate that this Zin is not too sweet and jammy. I could see this going well with a plate of cheese and dried fruit.

Quickly becoming my favorite of the Gamba range. Not as show-stopping as the '16, but damned close.
