91!pts

Tasted this with Spottswoode CEO, Beth Novak, during a wine tasting event. This has taken on substantial weight and concentration compared to the 2011. The density makes it harder to break down the flavors, but from the onset you could trace flavors of grapefruit, apricot, honeydew melon, lemongrass and lime. Quite heavier and lengthier compared to the 2011. Just beautiful. Drink now through 2016.

Nose: Slightly stinky nose which had me worried that this bottle was flawed. Grass poked through a nose of fuel, woodpile and moss. Palate: Relieved when this was so nice in the mouth. Great mouthfeel with Meyer Lemon, Melon, Grass and Stone notes coming through. Round with a hint of vanilla and acid still showing. Finish: Nice finish not long, but full of lemon oil and stone/mineral.

Tasted with a '08 and '13. Fruit is beginning to fall off but still some acidity. Very interesting to see how this wine is evolved.

Nice sauvignon blanc. Didn't knock my socks off for a Spottswoode. More grassy than citrusy.
