At Ridge event from Magnum. This was really nice to be able to try at this age. If you like older complex wines then this is your friend and may surprise you what a Zin can become with age. I suspect this will probably hold on for a little while longer but the fruit is turning. If you steer towards younger wines then you'll want to drink this one up.

A Ridge Tahoe Weekend; 6/29/2023-7/2/2023 (Edgewood Resort): The winner of this group. From a magnum. One of my takeaways from this day of Ridge drinking is we don’t drink enough Lytton Springs. This was just really tasty. Almost an uname character to the wine but with great fruit. It’s very nice drinking. Field blend of century old vines. It’s got a truly long life ahead of it and I don’t think this is actually the right drinking window but it was quite enjoyable nonetheless.

(Ridge Lytton Springs Zinfandel) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-not appealing; smells a little like NY garbage; one day old mushy cereal; little oyster shell; TASTE-lighter than previous Lytton Springs; a little bland & boring; some dark cherry flavors; kind of nice & silky, but simple; a bad batch of blueberries; WS-88; GV-85

Fruit almost gone. Strong vanilla and coconut flavours. Surprisingly fresh on the palate, not overaged. Very nice aged tannins.
Drink immediately, don't hold.

Final bottle. Lovely mature wine. No fruit left but very smooth long wine dominated by vanilla
