2018 Visit to Vincent Girardin with Marco (Meursault): A vineyard at the top of Les Pèzerolles, near Volnay. A terrace of poor soil with chalk and stones. A nose of soil, minerals and polished black fruit. To drink, spherical, refined fine grained tannins and well balanced, in terms of fruit, acids and tannins. Mainly dark fruit, with iron filings and cola. I’d expect it to be a good food wine.

Floral light bodied Pinot Noir. Pleasant enough but a bit too tight. Raspberry, light tannin, crisp and fruity, but too austere.
