Yeah, a good champagne of balanced citrus and bready elements, pleasant rather than piercing or bracing acidity. When I think of Gosset I think of a super-saline, sharp, savory, intense powerhouse style. Not that, but a very nice wine all the same.

The Travellers Club, London (The Travellers Club, London): Two very consistent and welcoming bottles. Extra brut but well round and polished and very much an aperitif. Floral soft toast, very much a creamy palate and bright with energy. Very good NV. 89-90

Extremely pale. Nice creamy aroma, light, clean, sweetish in a white flower Clicquot/Cristal mould. Doesn't taste too dry, it's balanced and crisp, a good core of malic acidity. Not distinctive, complex, or long enough to justify the price, however. [Cork? + cage; 12% abv; Great Grog, £39.70].

Aromas of apple, pear, lemon, brioche. Creamy, dry, good persistence.

This is soft, tasty and easy-drinking with virtually no extra brût austerity.
