The majority (approximately 75%) of Failla's Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is sourced from estate vines. Ordered from a restaurant wine list, this bottle was uncorked and served immediately in fine stemware. Light golden in color, it delivers aromas and flavors of stone fruits, tangerine, honeycrisp apples, dried herbs and ginger. Medium-bodied, fresh, judiciously oaked and without noticeable alcohol (13.3%), it stays solid in the middle and finishes medium-to-long. This is a well-crafted, restrained California Chardonnay that checks all of the boxes. It should be at its best over the next 2-3 years. Drink now-2024.

Thoroughly enjoyable wine. I have long been a fan of Failla wine and this standard Sonoma Coast bottling was great quality at this price point. Character, sense of terroir and light butterscotch notes.

Failla tasting at K&L: According to the taster, this sees mostly concrete. The nose is a little closed, but it's nice stone fruit and lemon. On the palate there is slate, jasmine, asian pear, tangerine. Very clean, very pleasant.
