  • Excellent. Full bodied flavor. Not too dry. Similar to a red zinfandel.

  • Splash decanted half the bottle. An hour later there's gobs of bright black and blue fruit on the nose. Tannins are far more integrated and the wine is better balanced than my last tasting 2.5 years ago.

Dark black and blue fruit continue across the palate with tannins that are in a good place, and not particularly heavy unless you make a real effort to aerate or swirl in your mouth.

Unapologetically New World, and nothing wrong about that if you enjoy this.

BUMP - 4.5 hours after opening I'm wrapping off the last of the half bottle that wasn't decanted. Nose is similar but less vibrant and more elegant than from the decanter 2+ hours ago. If I didn't know any better, there's a hint of green and herbaceousness that'd make me think there's a cab franc component.

Much more balanced and complex, with lots of layering, earth beneath the softer dark fruit and vanilla. Its added considerable weight and satin to the finish, now a solid 94.

I've got 2 more bottles and will mark 2030+ as the far end of the drinking window, throttling back as the wine ages. Not gonna peel the bandage off the Lewelling vs Hayfork discussions but…

  • This bottling is drinking well off a PNP and is at/near peak drinking. I also do not expect the wine to fall apart in the coming 1-2 years. It has a nice balance of fruit and acid with tannins that are entirely integrated.

  • Dark ruby in color with a short red rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, metals, chocolates and black pepper.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, cola, cedar, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, leather and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Spicy and rich. Opulent and tasty.

Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet from the great 2016 vintage, is still young, and would be better in the next 5 to 10 years.

    Robert Parker 94 points.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels (75% new) for 20 months.

    15.1% alcohol by volume.

    93 points.

    $70.
