Not only that but UConn put up a 25-0 run against Illinois over 15 minutes that was unbelievable. 28-23 at half to 48-28 in first 9 minutes of 2nd half.
Only bad thing is that was my last bottle. 😢

One hour double decant. Deep dark magenta color. Black cherry danish, blue cheese, and cacao. Smooth, dry, slightly glossy palate, with fine acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

Decanted for 90 minutes then tasted at European cellar temperature. Aromas tend to red/black berries and light peppery spice. Flavors of red fruits, baking spices, violets. Drying but with a bacon fat texture at first that was very creamy. Overall, though, a powerful, punchy wine. It's hard to put my glass down, I'm enjoying this so much.

Blend is different from the 2015 (8% Cabernet Franc in this release vs. 5% Petit Verdot in 2015). Some of the Cabernet Sauvigonn came from an additional Oakville vineyard too (compared to 2015). Decanted for 90 minutes following other recent notes; chilled to European cellar temperature. Delicious: red and purple fruit with a hint of menthol. The secondary flavors indicate the Cabernet Franc in the blend: purple fruits mingle with red berries and plums. A little juicier and more tannic mouthfeel than the 2015, with none of the vanilla cream element that vintage had. Different and equally tasty.

Decanted for 90 minutes, tasted at about 58 degrees F. More cocoa powder character than before, otherwise the same...and delicious as ever!
