  • Last bottle of this. Keeps getting better, so I guess I'm screwed! Really like this. Not an ooze monster (and I like those as well) but a very fragrant, Northern Rhone-ish syrah. Balanced on the palate between the fruit and acidity, with a moderate amount of glycerin (I'm thinking Pax as my reference point here). Is there any Viognier in this? Sure seems it given high aromatics and hint of apricot on the palate. White pepper, mixed red and black fruits. Drink 'em if you got 'em - won't be disappointed.

  • 14.3% alc...now THIS is what I am talking about...THIS, THIS, THIS. This makes me happy with this varietal!! Subtle smoke, think slow roasting, black fruit and nice spiciness on the back, all integrated on the nose...TEXTURE. The palate was extraordinary, picture of perfect balance. Mouthwatering acidity, outrageous texture, integrated tannins and serious black fruits atop shroom-like earthiness. This wine's acidity was too biting for me 2 years ago. Since then, this wine has screamed to the front of the class. Sometimes focus on Napa Syrah is lost, but THIS is an exception in my mind. Nice, nice wine. Singing right now, could go longer, but this is how I would want to enjoy it!! ***** out of *****.
