  • Label change from what I recall from previous vintages. Enjoyed it a restaurant, and almost sent it back thinking they had brought out the wrong thing! Half of the table enjoyed steak, and this wine really did go very well with it. For those that enjoyed scallops, this one was really pretty damn good as well with that. Mostly black fruited wine. Blackberry, a hint of blueberry, a little bit of molasses and mocha in the middle along with a hint of truffle. Toward the finish, I was picking up a little bit of dark chocolate and espresso bean. Finished with a hint of roasted tannin, but still a lot of stiff oak tannin at first which did soften up and allow the fruit core to really shine with a hint of pepper on the finish.
