2012 Barolo / Barbaresco (Terra Rossa N1): Nose of soft light red fruit with some sweetness and beautiful distinct rose. With time opens up more and gives some nice black tea. Darkens on the palate with more Brunate intensity. Tannins are pretty full on but there is enough freshness here to have this working with food.

2012 Barolo/Barbaresco (Terra Rossa): This was pretty oaky, although not as distinctively so as the Luisin, and that slightly sweet vanilla note dominated the nose. More sweetness on the full-bodied palate, some ginger spice and a bitter finish. The wine felt well-made, but not quite for me.

Tight as a drum. Almost translucent in glass with garnet hues. Slightly muted nose, floral, red fruit. Gritty tannins with nice uplifting acid. Medium + finish. I will hold my next bottle for at least 2 years. Higher potential in terms of score.

A powerful wine with intense aromatics. The aromatics were really complex - savory, fruity, earthy, and then stern palate. I would give it more time but its certainly a gem.
