3 hour slow-ox; Big wine with lots of fruit, showing red and black raspberry, sweet tobacco, hints of oak and vanilla, and espresso on the finish. Just an outstanding wine that knocks it out of the park every time. Drink now - 2030+.

Two hour decant time. Medium+ ruby-cranberry in colour. Nose of black cherries, fig newtons, a bit of tobacco with some meaty black peppers and hints of sweet vanilla and violets. On the palate, there are black licorice with black cherries along with some peppery black currants and touches of bloody meat. Medium bodied with a medium+ finish.

Opened by Blue Oval. 61% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 10% Mouvedre, 2% Viognier ad 1% Rousanne. This estate formerly sold grapes to Manfred Krankl. I previously had the 2017 vintage of this wine. Dark purple color. Round and not as ripe or heavy as I expected. Notes of black cherries and currants. this was a fruit driven wine. 93 points.

90 min decant; aromas of fig, black cherry, vanilla cavendish pipe tobacco. Flavors of black cherry and fig fruit, sweet tobacco and earthy notes. No TCA or bacon fat flavors this bottle. Day 2 showed a bit more tart, prune-like fruit flavors, and a bit more acid apparent. Best on day 1, likely didn't even need the decant. Drink now - 2030.

Splash decant, paired with grilled wagyu. Picked up some very very slight hints of TCA in the mouth (no aromas). Still a really good wine and that hint of TCA made things a bit more interesting. Cherry and red berry fruit, tobacco and earthy notes. This is really lush and rich in the mouth, coating everything. Love these wines from Chris Hammell! Drink now - 2030+.
