Drank with dinner of Pork Crown Roast. Everyone at the table loved this wine. We didn’t get a chance to do proper tasting notes but this was not fruity/jammy but had earthy characteristics which I really enjoy. I didn’t really know much about this wine but I will be keeping an eye out for more of it. I will also do a little more research on this vineyard. I want to know where it is in RRV. I do have a couple more bottles thank goodness. Should have no issues cellaring for a couple more years.

A beauty. Unctuous black fruit all through the mouthfeel. First glass was a bit harsh and even tannic. Softened over 2 hours with the last ounce the best. So, better decant.

There are a few producers of pinot from California that I enjoy (yes the region makes a BIG difference), but Martinelli is one of those vineyards that I so enjoy. This pinot is a perfect example of what they can produce (add them to your cellar). The dark cherry flavors, the dark fruit aromas, the smooth pleasant finish provides a very nice wine. The wine is drinking very nicely now and appears to have at least another 5 years in the bottle.

We REALLY liked this one, and it was singing to us... talk about your full-throttle CA Pinot, this is it! A big punch in the teeth of Pinot flavors, not for fans of subtlety and finesse. Wowee!

Lacks complexity. Cherry juice disappointment.
