With braised short ribs in a red wine sauce afoot, seemed like a good time to check on this. It remains quite primary, offering a real smack of ripe, energetic olive flavors with a side of bacon. It’s not at all tannic but more patience will be needed for it to tone down and evolve into something more interesting.

Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône; 4/15/2019-4/16/2019 (Ampuis, Mauves and Tain-l'Hermitage): Walk around tasting talking with the producers, brief note. Very fun and balanced, even if not the most complex wine of the day. Many 2016s will drink well young, and this is perfect example, even if not particularly cellar worthy. 90+ point potential.
