  • let's get this out of the way first - the weakness of this wine is that the finish is weak, almost dilute. is is nothing close to elegant, and not by any means a great example of what Petraea can be. but it is the MMIII and based on 2003, a vintage in which there isn't a lot of good in Champs. this wine, however, shows a lot of good. broad and wide perfume, marzipan, lovely red fruits, all follows through on the palate and then there is rhubarb on the midpalate too leading to a thin finish. but the nose is so lovely, and the wine so tasty, you have to be pretty picky not to enjoy this. or super well versed in petraea, which i am not. i enjoyed it.
