Jam, spiced cherry pie on the nose. Cherry on the taste as well. Needed to open up - very tight, relaxed a little after 30 minutes. Nice wine, typical Failla style.

Good depth and some earthy notes because I decanted the wine and left it for about three hours. This is a really nice wine but strangely my wife is getting some GMs from it. I think it’s because there’s a touch of stem on the nose. We’ll probably stick with the Oregon Failla.
Not doing a formal tasting note since I’m elbow deep in pizza and have a slightly warped palate.

Failla Cave Tour and Tasting. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour, legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of sweet spices, red cola, pepper, red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.8%), medium- tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red cherries, red cola, red plum, bit of earth, dark red cherries, and a tinge of nail varnish. Long finish. Very good quality. Just a little raw at the moment. Nothing a little time in bottle can solve. Maybe another 2 years and this could drink very well.
