Popped and poured. This is quite fine. Very pretty to look at. The nose is very expressive and extremely lovely. Equaled if not exceeded in the mouth with excellent nutty and creamy fruit. This is just entering its sweet spot I believe. Wish I had bought more. 5-13-17-8: 93/100.

Well, it’s quite young and fresh, not premoxed.. so that’s good? Underlying material is clearly very good, rich lemon curd, orchard fruit and a good balance of tension and depth. But it’s quite oaky, almost undrinkably so on day 1. Better integrated on day 2.

9+ months after the prior — and our last of four: Golden straw. Again, oak char is noticeable — but not over powering, and it dissipated/smoothed out very nicely after being open about six hours (had some at lunch, more at dinner). Lovely again on day two — and finally, fading a bit (showing less definition) on the third. Overall, very enjoyable.

Bought bottle at restaurant because price was actually below most store prices. Expected it to be too young. After tasting it’s way too young. My rating reflects this. Nice gold color. One detriment is the prominence of the oak in both the nose and on the palate. Trying to set that aside the nose was mostly pear and green apple as well as hints of floral notes. The palate was harder to appreciate because of the oakiness but the fruit is hiding there as well as a nice mineral and acid base. My guess is this wine would be much better and getting an idea of what it would be like in the future after decanting or perhaps recorking and trying after a couple of days. If I owned bottles of this wine I would wait at least five more years to give it another try.

Third bottle, four months after the proir: Medium golden. Deep, savory, medium rich, and quite complex. Lovely acidity. Encore a hint of oaky char, and again very enjoyable over three nights.
