Upgrade based on two years of age. This guy really shined with grilled NY Strips and Chimichuri sauce. The Malbec came through to make this a much more distinctive and interesting wine than it was two years ago, which was clearly too early. Smooth, complex and delicious.

Big blast of fruit on the nose & palate; followed by serious tannins and essences of beef blood, spices, cassis and wildflowers. Tis much more than I expected and it's made in a very serious style. This is not typical Napa Cab... its HUGE Napa Cab with a whole lot of concentrated black fruit, elegance and extravagance. Bravo!

75.72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.61% Malbec, 5.93% Petit Verdot, 5.74% Cabernet Franc: Napa Valley, CA: 612 cases: 71% New French Oak, Aged 28 months: Opened the bottle about 3 hours before pouring the first glasses and enjoying over the next 4 hours. Nose initially providing soft leather, fig and a plum / dark fruit mixture. Later on in the night the wine provide enticing expresso & chocolate on the nose. Another bottle highlighting the luxurious mouthfeel of Palmaz wines, with silky tannins and a medium finish of lingering traditional cab elements with a nice spiciness from the Malbec influence.

Very, very good. I decanted for about one hour and it was perfect.. Had both with and without food and I loved it either way.
