13.5 % alcohol. This is the "rugby series" and it carries the "passion" logo, but I do not know if this is more than a marketing ploy. Screwcap. Deep colour, with definite thinning at the edge of the rim. The nose is rich but slightly confected, with dark berries and some inky aromas. The mouth continues on the confected theme, with a definite sweet note which does not help its cause; good acidity in the finish. On the positive side, the oak does not impinge unduly. Not to my taste, but not the worst new world wine that I ever had either.

Nose of charcoal, grape, raisin, orange peel. My companion adds "mushroom" and actually I cannot deny it. He also said, "cardamom" and that's no lie. In tasting, you get almost a Shiraz here, it's so fruity. It is so full-on grape, it's amazing! But the charcoal keeps it a Cab. Definite orange peel in both pith and flavor adds considerable complexity in what promises to be a good beverage for years to come. Perfectly enjoyable with our Montreal spiced NY steak and lightly cooked green beans, but I might suggest that this be an even better companion with grilled pork chops, lamb chops, or greasy pork schnitzel / wiener schnitzel. Should age well. Worth playing that game.

Blackberry, eucalyptus, a little pepper. All around not bad and pretty good value. There is still a mild astringent finish though.

Nice everyday red wine. Not very complex, but wonderful smooth.

Medium red color wine with some residual sugar, light cherry notes with limited tannin. Not bad but maybe a tad to sweet.
