Dark ruby hue with high saturation. Aromas and flavors of blackberry jam, blueberry, cream, oak, plum, raspberry, and vanilla, with a hint of sage. Full body, medium-heavy tannins, and medium acidity. Bold, fruit-forward, and easygoing.

It wasn't the worst wine ever but it certainly wasn't close to good. The best part about it was the aroma of cherry but everything else was substandard.

First off, I’m a huge fan of Paso/Central Coast wines. Which means when I see a Paso wine, I don’t think twice about trying it. Thus, the purchase of Troublemaker.
I knew by the price point, this was a lower end wine from the Central Coast. But, that didn’t mean it was going to be a bad wine.
On the label it states it is “intensely rich”, which I agree. Also states it is “velvety smooth” which is not inaccurate. Lastly it says “sneaky good”. Well, that one I don’t agree with.
First off the nose is a flowery perfume which is an immediate turnoff. Some dark fruit, earth on the nose too. Taste wise, this is a hard one to describe. It is big and full and slides off the tongue, but the flavors are difficult to articulate. There is a skunky, mineral and earth flavor that just tastes bad. Maybe some of that hint of fruit when it is starting to turn. Absolutely nothing enjoyable about the wine.
The first night we had a half glass each and stopped. The next evening, we let it breath more and ran it through an aerator. That helped some and made it drinkable enough to finish, but that sure is not an endorsement.
My recommendation - find something else to buy. There are plenty of drinkable wines in the $10 to $15 price range.

No fruit left. Since there’s no year on the bottle who knows when it should have been consumed. No complexity at all.
